Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival at Delhi to Rishikesh

On arrival at Delhi Airport/Railway Station your journey is start with Journey Handlers. You will be transferred to Rishikesh –the ‘Yoga capital of the world’ and ‘gateway to the Himalayas’. It is the home of various adventurous activities like White Water River rafting, Hiking and Trekking. Later visit Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula (450 feet long suspension bridge), Swargashram temple, Geeta Bhawan temple, Bharat temple and various Ashrams. You may take an excursion to Nilkantha Mahadev temple (12 Kms. ahead of Rishikesh) –located at a height of approx 5000 feet). From here one can have a spectacular view of the area. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2

Rishikesh - Kaldubagarh

Post breakfast, we will drive towards Kaldubagarh. It is a drive of 6-7 hours, passing through the Hindu pilgrimage cities of Devprayag and Rudraprayag. This is a no-rafting day, so we'll stay in a hotel or river camp in Kaldubagarh for the night.

Day 3

Kaldubagarh

Today we face the most difficult section of the entire journey. An early start gets us to Chamoli, where we gear up our rafts, brief ourselves for the day ahead, and prepare to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! We'll go over some of the best grade IV and grade IV+ rapids in the area. Depending on the amount of water, we either walk around or take on the rafting challenge raised by Nandprayag's "Hillary Drop" rapids. Return at Kaldubagar when this thrilling day on the river comes to an end. Have rest to gear up for the next day.

Day 4

Gauchar

Today we raft to Gauchar, passing through numerous grade III and IV rapids on our way to the Pindar-Karanprayag confluence. The Pindar River adds more water to the already raging Alaknanda, giving the rapids that follow more punch and zest. Finish the day on a sandy beach with clear stargazing and bonfires to glorify nature.

Day 5

Rudraprayag to Rishikesh

We call today a 'Pool and Drop' day because there is a lot of grades III and IV rapids compared to the beginning. We start our rafts after breakfast and travel to Rudraprayag. The Kakar Fall, a grade V rapid, is also regarded as the high point of the entire journey. This rapid is named after the canyon surrounding it, which is small enough for a Kakar (deer) to leap across (15 meters). Before determining whether to negotiate the canyon or line up the raft to reach this magnificent narrow box canyon, we perform a thorough inspection. The tour concludes with a crossing of another grade IV rapid, Holy Hole, before returning to Rishikesh.
