Itineraries
Day1
Shimla To Janglik
Our representative on behalf of the Journey Handlers will greet you at Shimla and start your journey to Janglik which will take almost 10 hours. Once you reach, you will stay overnight in a homestay at Janglik village. You can explore the village, meet locals, and enjoy the stunning Himalayan views. In the morning, you will start our trekking toward Chandranahan Lake.
Day2
Janglik To Dyara Thach
On our second day of the trek, we will begin our trek from the trail going up the village and through the pine forest. After a few hours of rigorous trekking, you will reach beautiful meadows with views of magnificent peaks.
As you enter the forest of lush pine and oak, it begins to get dense, and the steep climb turns into an incremental one. You can view the beautiful pine and oak forests with streams across the trail. It secretly climbs out of the tree line into a vast expanse of meadows, climbing into the hills.
After an hour, you will again enter the dense pine and oak forest, striding under the shades of trees, and the sound of crumbling leaves will make the trek enjoyable. Before reaching Dayara, the trail climbs up slowly, and you will have to gear up for the steep climb, and suddenly the stunning meadow of Dayara comes into sight. Once we reach the location, we will set camp and have some fun. The first day always feels a little challenging, but once you reach the pretty campsite of Dayara Thach, your sense of accomplishment will be unbeatable. You can have tea and rest for a while before you settle down for the night and enjoy dinner under the stars.
Day3
Dyara Thach To Litham Thach
On the third day of our trek, we will explore the Dayara meadows in the morning, and after an excellent breakfast, we will start our tour to Litham Thach. The trail from Dayara to Litham goes through thick forests, alluring green meadows, and streams. Through the fields, the route heads towards the Gunas Pass, and after 30 minutes, we will reach the pine forest. The trail will be mostly descending and comparatively more leisurely than the other days of the trek. We will cross it and reach our campsite, where you will find plenty of streams crisscrossing Litham. From here, the views are just mind-boggling. Towards the left, you can see the Chandranahan Waterfall, and on top of this waterfall is the gorgeous Chandranahan Lake. Towards the right are cliffs with snow patches, behind which lies Rupin valley, and in front are snow-covered mountains. At their back lies Buran Ghati.
Day4
Litham To Chandernahan Lake & Back to Litham Campsite
Chandranahan is a small glacial lake surrounded by mountains and snow flanks that feed this Lake. On our fourth day, we will take the trail to the top of the ridge and head towards the waterfall’s snout. Reaching this point is a challenge because the trail is quite steep and depending on the season, there can be a lot of snow on this route. Once we reach the waterfall, we’ll take a breather and continue the rest of the gradual climb. You can see the mighty alpine valley from this spot, and the views are incredibly mind-boggling. The setting of this Lake is marvellous the grassy patches are in the middle, and small waterfalls turn into little freshwater streams. There are rough and steep boulders that mark the lake so always make sure to wear appropriate shoes for this trek We’ll spend some time here, you can feel the fresh air and capture the beautiful view of the lake and its surroundings. Once we finish exploring, we’ll make our way back to the camp, where a hot meal awaits us.
Day5
Litham To Dhunda
It would be best to make a two-hour climb that will leave you breathless. The place is located at an elevation of 13,300 feet and is surrounded by stunning snowy mountains. It’s a perfect destination for adventure enthusiasts. You can see Gunas pass from here, situated atop the snowy mountains. Looking to the left, you’ll see Litham’s grassland; to the right, you’ll see the picturesque Rupin Valley. Combining grey and white mountains with lush greenery makes it a unique sight. You’ll get the first glimpse of Buran Ghati on your left as you make the steep ascent to Dhunda. You can take some amazing pictures here and capture the breathtaking views. You can start the climb to Dhunda by following the shepherd trail to the pass, from where you can see the Buran Ghati trail.As you continue your journey, you’ll be surrounded by snow-capped mountains from all sides, making you feel like you’re in the middle of a winter wonderland. The entire campsite at Dhunda is a beautiful spot to camp in the alpine mountain ranges, with clear skies and fresh air that will rejuvenate your senses. You can set up your tent and take in the stunning views of the mountains, valleys, and the sky. With its tranquil ambience and pristine beauty, Dhunda is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the beauty and serenity of nature.
Day6
Dhunda To Manirang Campsite via Buran Pass
Start the trek early because the distance is long and difficult. You Leave the campsite Dhunda following the ridge and do boulder hopping to reach the base of the Buran Pass. Reaching the Pass will take time from the base. It is a narrow surface on the top, use ropes to descend because it can be very risky without it. Below you have to reach a snow field which is at a distance of 100 meters. Slide down the surfaces which are present in series. Descending doesn’t take time on this trek, you lose the altitude which you gained in just one go. Reach the end of snow line by losing 3000 feet. Descend through a ridge with blooming flowers and green shrubs. The lush green valley views are really pleasant and the mountains towering high makes it look more beautiful. Ahead you will cross a stream. Reach the Manirang Campsite camp here and rest for the night.
Day7
Manirang Campsite To Barua Village & Head towards Shimla
Today on the trail come across diverse vegetation and get surprised by the changing landscapes. Follow the wide and frequently used Barua Khad’s path. Descend and ahead see a strea, cross it over a bridge and explore the diverse vegetation. After hiking for one hour you reach apple orchards and further lies civilization. Enter the Barua village there are many fruit orchards. Descend through it and now the trail gets you to the bridge over Barua Khad. Halt here then leave for Shimla.
