Itineraries
Day 1
Jammu to Katra
Arrival at Jammu Airport /Railway station. Our cab driver will meet you at Airport/Railway Station/Bus Stop. After some basic information start your journey to Katra the place where the trek to Maa Vaishno Devi Temple starts. You can reach Katra directly by train. On arrival at Katra check in the hotel. Take some rest and this day will be free for leisure. In the evening you can visit local market of Katra. Dinner and overnight stay at Katra hotel.
Day 2
Katra to Maa Vaishno Devi Temple to Katra
In the morning after breakfast, start your trek to Maa Vaishno Devi Temple. This stunning town the base for reaching the famous holy shrine of Vaishno Devi, located in the Trikuta Hills. There are 4 popular options to travel from Katra to Vaishno devi. 1st is Trekking 2nd is Horse (Pony) (by own cost) 3rd is Palki (By your own cost) 4th is Helicopter. For Helicopter (by own cost) you need to do the prior booking which starts 60 days before but closes within few hrs. Booking can be done online using the site of Vaishno devi shrine board. On reaching the temple do the Darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi and then also do darshan of Bhairo Nath. The trek back to Katra which is 12km. Then dinner and overnight stay at Katra hotel.
Day 3
Katra to Pahalgam
Morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and start your journey to Pahalgam. Enjoy on the way natural beauty and scenery. This will be 6-7 hours journey. On arrival at Pahalgam check in the hotel. Pahalgam is also known as ‘The valley of Shepherds’ or ‘Trekker’s Paradise’. Pahalgam is the most famous place for Indian Film Industry. Arrive Pahalgam and transfer to the hotel. Evening free for leisure, visit the local market in the evening. Then dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4
Pahalgam local Sightseeing to Srinagar
After breakfast, check out form the hotel and start the trip to Chandanwadi. Located on the way to Chandanwari, the valley was named Betaab after the Bollywood movie by the same name! Earlier known as Hajan Valley, after the release of the movie, it was renamed as a major part of the movie was shot here. Post lunch (on your own) or as time permits, proceed for a trip to Aru Valley (on your own). Aru Valley is a tourist spot 11 km from Pahalgam noted for its scenic meadows and mountains. It is a base camp for trekking to the Kolahoi Glacier and Tarsar Lake. The village lies on the left bank of the Aru River, which is a tributary of the Lidder river. After this proceed towards Srinagar and check in the houseboat then dinner and overnight stay in the houseboat at Srinagar.
Note: In Pahalgam outside vehicles are not allowed for sightseeing. Only local taxis can roam around within Pahalgam city. All outside vehicles will pick up & drop from hotel.
Day 5
Srinagar City Sightseeing
After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and get transferred to the hotel. After check in, proceed to sightseeing tour of Srinagar. Visit Mughal Gardens, Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure), Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love), The Chashme Shahi Garden & Shankaracharya Temple. Evening is free for shopping. Overnight stay in Srinagar at Hotel.
Day 6
Srinagar - Sonamarg - Srinagar
After breakfast, proceed for Sonamarg which is situated at a distance of 85 Kms/2-3 Hours) on the Srinagar – Ladakh Road. The road passes through the picturesque town of Ganderbal (21 Kms) & Kangan (40 Kms) before reaching Sonamarg. Situated at an altitude of 2730 m, Sonamarg, which means – Meadow of Gold – has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that flows through the valley abounds with trout. You may have Pony ride while going to Thajiwas Glacier. Enjoy Sledge riding on snowy mountains. Back to Srinagar in the evening. En route, visit the famous Kheer Bhawani Temple at Tulmulla village which is constructed over a sacred spring & is dedicated to Goddess Ragynea Bhagwati. Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 7
Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar
Today after breakfast, proceed for Gulmarg (54 Kms/2 Hours) which is the most famous & scenic hill resort of Kashmir. Free at leisure for rest of the day. You may enjoy horse riding on plush meadows. Have Gondola ride up to the peak heights of Khilanmarg for which tickets are available at J&K State Cable Car Corporation office in Gulmarg. Advance Gondola tickets may also be purchased from Tourist Reception Center (TRC), Srinagar or same may be booked online to avoid standing in long queues at ticket counters in Gulmarg. Back to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight Stay at Srinagar.
Day 8
Srinagar to Jammu/Katra Drop
Today morning after breakfast check out from the hotel after that proceed your journey towards Jammu/Katra Railway Station. Our driver will drop you at Katra/Jammu Railway station/Airport and Bus station from where you can return back to your home with sweet memories of your tour with Journey Handlers.
