One of the most exhilarating treks in the Ladakh region, Markha Valley happens to be the largest valley in the region. Kashmir is undoubtedly the heaven on the earth and is one of the most sought tourist places in North India. Leh tops the list of most desired adventure hubs which is quite popular for its arid and raw thrills and the gateway to the burned-out trails.
Leh is the starting point of this adventurous trek and this adds more point to your adventurous journey as you get to explore the Buddhists monuments in Leh. You will be amazed to traverse through the tiny hamlets as you gain height. The trail goes through the dry regions but Markha, Indus, and other water streams come your way. One gets to witness a huge variant of treasured fauna, snow leopard, argali, mountain sheep, rabbits, and other Himalayan hospitals when you pass through the Hemis National Park.

Itineraries
Day 01
Leh-Chilling- Skiu (Altitude: 3400 mts – Drive: 65 km
Reaching Leh Airport, our tour representative will meet and greet you. He will then assist you in proceeding towards Skiu through Chilling. You will be crossing River Zanskar and then follow the road route to Skiu, a very fascinating and incredible village. This beautiful village is however not so big but is segregated into upper and lower villages according to the altitude differences.
On reaching Skiu, the day destination, start driving towards the campsite where you will be spending a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 02
Skiu- Markha (Altitude: 3700 mts – Trek: 18 km
This is the day when you will start your trek towards Markha Valley. Post enjoying the Breakfast get yourself geared up to cover this moderately strenuous and exciting trek. Walkthrough the gorgeous Markha Valley, small wooden bridges along with River Markha, and pass the bushes. On reaching the campsite, take out some time to visit the nearby old monastery in the village.
Day 03
Markha- Thachungtse (Altitude: 4010 mts – Trek: 13 km
Another exciting day to go for a rejoicing trek to explore Thachungtse. Do not skip the morning meal as the day is going to be very tiring and hectic and you need to feel energized throughout the day. On the way to Thachungtse, you will be crossing River Markha and visiting Hankar, the highest village of the valley.
If you are lucky enough then you get to have the soul-soothing views of Mt. Kang Yatse today. Later at night, you will be served with scrumptious dinner which is then followed by a comfy overnight halt.
Day 04
Thachungtse- Nimaling (Altitude- 4900 meters - Trek- 10 km
Give a beautiful start to your fourth day of the trip with a relishing and healthy breakfast. Get ready to enjoy today’s trekking experience at Nimaling. You will be passing through a chain of glassy ridges and multiple moderate slopes. We must say that you are not going to forget the day’s experience for many years.
Day 05
Nimaling - Kangmarula - Chakdo – Leh (5200 mtr - Trek- 13 km
On the final day of your adventure trip, you will be climbing up to Kangmaru - La, the highest point of the trek. On reaching the top, you will get to see the colorful praying flags accompanied by the mesmerizing views of Mt. Kang Yatse I and II. Do not forget to capture some amazing clicks in your phone and camera before descending and boarding the cab to reach Leh Airport.
